Once Bitten

And suddenly you wonder why
I’m "once bitten twice shy"
when putting all my faith in guys
I’m vulnerable I guess

I sense your animosity;
it tends to gravitate to me
I don’t know why you’re mad at ME
I didn’t make this mess!

I just grew tired of your lies
and clinging to your alibis
our love was sure to go awry
when putting to the test

I’ve tried to find the good in you
and believe me I have wanted to
there’s nothing else that I can do
but say I tried my best.

Nicely done Gayle, don't lose faith, plenty of decent blokes out there. Kind regards, Craig

Oh I think the majority of people out there are still kind to each other. This may have been just a bump in the road years ago ;)

Nice flow to this, it reads smoothly and the rhyme scheme is spot on.
