Listen to poem:

On Wednesday Afternoons

On Wednesday Afternoons
David J Walker

How nice
Said the boys at the end
Of the bar
That he takes his old man
For a beer

Once in a while
	On Wednesday afternoons

How nice it must be
For him to get out
Drive about and
Drink a few with his son

Once in a while
	On Wednesday afternoons

They could imagine
The old veteran
Had no friends left
And wondered about
Their friends and their sons
And what might be done
Someday

Once in a while
	On Wednesday afternoons
