On True Love
Searching for Love must be the most exploited trail,
The theme of almost every song, play, fairy tale.
Love’s shining lodestar we relentlessly pursue,
Doubting repeatedly whether or not it’s true.
The question “what is love” we don’t cease to inquire-
Is there an afterlife to physical desire?
What stimulates the mind? And what warms up the heart?
What binds forever? And what pushes us apart?
Is there a deeper sense, we delve to understand,
Beyond Love’s magic spell, bestowed on humankind ?!
I doubt we would relentlessly pursue,
If Love, we hope and long for, weren’t true!
