On the Threshold

My weary eyes have yet to see

The threshold of eternity

But with the moon and stars around

My heart and mind and spirit bound

Then on my headstone there will be

A glimpse of my humanity

And when they lay me in the ground

Unburdened by all sight and sound

All the burdens will be removed when you cross the threshold of Heaven.
