On the Pier

Darkness swallows the day
Time has come once again
To light the sky,and then
Show them the way

Guardian on the pier
Years of thankless duty
With a certain beauty
You stand alone

The sentinel shines on
Never failing to warn
Upholding an oath sworn
Not on my watch
