On the Line

You are not doing your job,
If you have not put it on the line.

Help save the planet,
Put your washing on the line,

Read the fine print,
Before you sign on the line,

Our lives are,
Always on the line.

Our reputations too,
Are always on the line.

It is hard to find the truth,
With fake news,
24/7 on the line.

If it was not for poetry,
Being here on the line.

Insanity,
Would be the only thing left,
On the line.

Thank you. I was an early childhood teacher for over 30 year, mostly as a reliever, and I put my job on the line for the sake of the children more times than I can count. Regards David
