On the Eve

On the eve
How things turn
Slowly in your hand
The hourglass
The falling sand

On the eve
The course I tread
The threads I weave
Yet...
Instead
All I believe
The falling sand

On the eve
I sat with the one I love
Heard her comforting words
Hold her hand
The hourglass
The falling sand

On the eve
I turned to see my lovers' eyes
A kindled love
Compassion too
Her words, so wise
So true....
Made me believe

On the eve
Of new beginnings
New endings
My pain ceased
The falling sand
The joy released

On the eve
Of the hourglass
The falling sand
I thought of you
Of me
Holding your hand

On the eve
I saw such beauty
Kissed her too
That I can live
With love
Always
Completely

On the eve
How things turn
Slowly in your hand
The hourglass
The falling sand
