On the Down Side

When reflections in the mirror clash
And you walk through life on broken glass
You hide behind the same sad song
No future here tomorrow's gone

Stability has slipped away
No saving for a rainy day
And the dreams you had were bought and sold
For a broken mind and a tortured soul

It's a constant grind it's a steady drip
Disparity won't loosen its grip
You search to find a means to an end
Only to find in time it starts over again

So you look for the potion for breaking the spell
Pills and booze didn't take very well
It's time to pick up the pieces and pull up the slack
Start mending your soul get your life back on track
