On the Dirt Road

Walking on a dirt road, that once was paved.
Fallen off the path again, this life needs saved.
It was going somewhere just a short while ago.
I let it slip away and got lost, now I don't know.

I had so much back there that I took for granted.
I didn't know what I had, that road was enchanted.
Each day I'd wake up hoping for something good.
It was all around me, right in front of me as I stood.

The only thing I did was sit there and complain.
Look at me now, lost nowhere, stuck in the rain.
Out here underneath the moon and the stary sky.
It could be so different now, I need to get up and try.

I'll never get a chance to relive those time back then,
I was happy once, I was more, I'll get life back again.
That's a great thing about life, can't relive what you've been through.
But the future, that is however you want it to be for you.

Sounds like my life... and a few others I know. Well written and thought provoking.
