On the Day of a Winter Storm

On the day of the winter storm Tree branches were twisting The wind they were resisting Back and forth they would blow All weighed down by icy snow Fallen birds Sirens heard Snapping branches falling down A winter storm destroys our town Mother Nature letting go To her perhaps it’s just a show In us the fear is very strong Mother what did we do wrong? A sign to get on the right track As people run from trees that crack A warning from mother to what can come Destruction took seconds for now she’s done Sorry my mother we made you mad Our good will over power our bad We’ll make you proud no reason to roar We’re sorry my mother for making you soar

I feel like I am caught in the middle of a cracking, windshield-smashing, tree-limb-smacking snow storm. Mother Nature indeed is having her way here, terrifying us. I can almost hear the sounds, so well done!
