On Tears

Tears, unbidden, now you fall
silent down my cheek.
Oh heart, I ask,
what words now do you speak?
Slowly down they go
one following another
and if you tried to hold them in,
all else inside they would smother.
Somehow they will find
a way to go and leak
out somewhere, but for now
silent they run down my cheek.
