On Teaching

I do not teach for money.
I do not teach for fame.
I only teach to please Him,
Though I cannot mention His name.

He, too, loved little children,
And suffered them to come to Him.
He blessed them, and said, “To get to heaven,
we must become like one of them.”

He stands beside me every day
As I help each “little one.”
I ask His help each morning,
Before my day has begun.

I ask him to make me a blessing
To the children in my care.
And to let them feel His love through me,
As they learn- this is my prayer.
