On Seeing the Moon

As
the
full moon
softly casts
its pearlescent light,
the world sleeps undisturbed tonight.
My heart throbs with yearning upon seeing Luna’s glow.
I see no star to wish on, but what I wish for is as distant from me as that moon.

Dear Andrea, many congratulations with your win in the contest. This is a beautiful poem. Another new form to me! I love this reflective read and the imagery with the full moon as you observe the night sky and contemplate on your hearts desire/ wish. A wish so far out of your reach as the moon is - unobtainable. So profound and touching. Really enjoyed it. Thank you for sharing :)

Dear Andrea, i loved how you’ve written this cosmically pleasing poem in such eloquence despite the syllables restrictions, you’ve made it flow and deliver a poem that truly is stunning plus moving! It leaves an evocative and soul stirring impression especially the lines “My heart throbs with yearning upon seeing Luna’s glow.I see no star to wish on, but what I wish for is as distant ” felt this deeply. Congratulations on your well deserved win in my contest. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Andrea, this is a wonderful poem touching on deep "yearning" seeing the soft glow of moonlight when everyone else is asleep. What a wonderful metaphor for staying watchful. There is such a plaintive sense of longing - "I see no star to wish on but what I wish for is as distant from me as that moon." Amazing, wistful conclusion. This is one of the best fibonaccis I have read for the contest. I look forward to seeing it on the winners list! Blessings of health and happiness to you!
