The Night Before - 4

Contest by Joseph May

On Night Before Christmas

Twas the night before Christmas to remind Dad,
as Christmas gift, bi-cycle was my demand.
Last year he assured me, though with little pause,
My wish sure to be fulfilled by Santa Claus.

I told ' Dad, To night I am hanging my sock.'
He answered ' Hang your sock by twelve O' clock '
Dad again confirmed, 'Son, need not to worry.
Your bi-cycle ! Santa is sure to carry.'

' Very soon you will complete ten' : He added
' Have your first ride on that day' : I nodded,
but asked, ' Are you planning to skip birthday gift !'
He told, ' I will buy Sunglass ! Your guess is not right .'

On night before Christmas, comfortably slept.
Rejoiced to see bi-cycle, on day next.
At morn , door bell rang , asking for bill payment.
I promptly called Dad to meet Santa at gate.
