On Love's Turbulent Sea

On love's turbulent sea,
     my steady waves roll in
          and collide with you,
               the unwavering stone
                    who cannot feel a thing.

Grateful that we have choice concerning just how much time to invest, but it would have been nice if we had the choice of investment too. I especially like the sea symbolizing the immensity of love when it fills us, becomes more than just us.

Ah but the stone over time yields to the power of the sea.

Yes, that's true. Eventually, the sea may move or smooth the stone.

Hi Kelly! Stopping by to say hello; been off Soup for various reasons, but can't help peeping in to visit friends:) This poem is short, yet strong and impressive. It is not wise to spend your life trying to mellow unwavering stones. I am sure better 'stones' are available! // Thank you for reading and commenting on my senryu "Love is Free". // hugs ... paul

Hello Paul! It is always nice to see you here. Your kind comments are very much appreciated... You're right, there are some "stones" who cannot be smoothed over and there is no point in trying. I'm sure one day I will find a true "gem"... Hugs :)

Some people seem to be hollow inside and void of emotions. It is hard to read them and know their feelings... Thank you, Sara. Your kind comments are very much appreciated!

Hello Kelly, A most poignant verse write here. (It might be time to get rid of the "stone" and upgrade to someone who actually has feelings.) Unfortunately there are more "stones" pervading the so-called Human World that anyone can imagine. (I've known a few in my lifetime!!) A "7" is in order. This write truly intrigues me. Best Always, Gary

Hello Gary, and thank you for your nice comments. They are very much appreciated... You are absolutely right. I shouldn't be wasting my time on those who care nothing for me. I've known a few others like this, too. I wish those "stones" were easier to spot before I crashed into them.
