On Latent Talents

Loss of creative skills implied
     a soul has died,
     leaving bereft
     those who are left.

Latent talents youth unexplored
     may be restored
     in later years,
     no undue fears

Lest a waiting world be refused
     future recused
     nothing gainful,
     loss is painful.
