On Her Sixteenth Birthday
On her sixteenth birthday,
and that happened to be Earth's Day,
red, blue and yellow balloons went up faster than seagulls;
oh, her happiness was alike a show of impressive fireworks!
Nobody saw the tears she shed;
were they for someone she remembered?
Perhaps this place brought back some memory...
when she looked up in that sky ruled by serenity!
Was that the nostalgia for someone dear?
The longer she looked, the happier she felt releasing another tear;
so glad she seemed to watch those balloons fly away...
what a lovely way to say, " Thank you " on her sixteenth birthday!
