On Halloween

A night that comes, only once a year,
dressed to frighten, causing such fear.
Doom and gloom, all scream and shout,
as the unknown, is everywhere about.

When one hears a knock on the door,
hesitating to open, wondering what for.
Strange come asking, scary and now seen,
as one by one, demanding treat, on Halloween.
