On Different Journeys

On different journeys, but towards the same spot
We travel alone, in deed and in thought

Paths may pass nearby, or even be shared
For a time, with those, for whom we have cared

Do we yearn for another to walk alongside,
will we keep our heart shuttered, or open it wide?

Can we see our own way to the right destination?
Should we fall, who will find us in our isolation?

If we’re led, will we follow or will we stand fast?
If we lead, will we tread where we feared in the past?

Will we walk in a rhythm? Will our strides be as one?
All will be clear when we can answer the first question
