Oh Robin

I never imagined that the funny man who made me laugh so hard,

Would one day through no fault of his own make me cry so hard.

Always one of a kind when it came to comedy he was the bard.

In life his heart was so large so giving then too he was the bard.

With the death of Robin Williams once again the mind disease "Depression" came to the forefront. Experts reminded us that Robin Williams died from the overwhelming wave of his worsening condition and we should not consider his uncontrollable actions a suicide. This dark piece attempts to once again remind us how serious an illness depression is. When recognized we need to suspend judgment and get all hands on deck to aggressively help the stricken.

gun- bullet-trigger-boom, done, peace from your illness, a life clenching unbearable depression and you know that's the way we all die, the sick of mind, chased by mares night, day, blood soaked in  cold sweats of despair with hope a foreign word and only one choice left gun-bullet-trigger-boom, done, peace from...

Maurice, I know what a major depression is. I have suffered from depression. The feeling is more than deathly. I am still on Escitalopram. But yoga helps enormously. A symptom of depression is the patient's uncontrollable craving for sleeping pills, narcotics etc. Robin must have had such a symptom.

Maurice..Robin Williiams was one of my favourite actors. He played his role so well. Now I know more than ever what a great actor He was, cause to live with depression and transmit so much laughter to the crowd is no joke.My dad has been suffering with depression for about thirty years.Depression is no joke ,and one never knows whats passing from a depressed mind many a times. So We must love these people and show them they are never alone. You described depression for what it is pain and more pain.

wow, Maurice, I really like this one. My husband has depression coupled with anxiety and it is something he and I both have to endure. Forever. Robin had it even worse, he was bi-polar and had addictions. This looks like an entry for that one enjambment contest and yet the abuse poem also looked like one for that contest. If I am thinking right, this one I think is the better of the two.

Robin, was my favorite, comedian. And he is so greatly missed. Your poem reminds us how tragic suicide is, which not only takes a life, but affects the lives of all who know her or him.
