On Arrival

coming coming coming
to winterize
old jack frost
with sleepy eyes
a draft, a chill, a cold cold breeze
enough to make the strongest sneeze

slowly slowly slowly
they freeze
the rain, water, wind and knee's
stiffening already fallen leaves
brittle they crumble with ease

staying staying staying
for a while
old jack frost till he tires
give the tree's and ground a rest
let them sleep and sleep there best

gone gone gone
our paradise
our summers green into wintery scene
no more swimming but skating the fad
there's still so much fun to be had

I'll tend my fire with kindling and draw the blankets to my chin and I'll lock the vagrant winter out and alter my wandering in. I'd like to call back summertime and have her stay for just another month or so but she got the urge for going and I guess she'll have to go. - Great Write John - *TheKidsterWasHere*

Good morning, John the sun is shining to bright in my face right now. I can't feel the coldness of my being. But, hopefully heaven lets me reach the fun, after all life is only an experience. Might as well try to enjoy it. The sand the dreams, and Mr. Jack Frost. The funny thing is, I'm not going to enjoy the skating fad. Texas has no ice ponds.. And its Miss Jack Frost that took a visit down here. And she does not like to freeze our *behinds off*. lol..She kinda likes us,,kidding,..p.d.

You got that right buddy, the knees are stiffening my friend, O go go go away winter, come again spring and summer to stay. I wish! Thanks for your comments and advice my friend, that we will have to do. If the mountain won't come to Muhammed then Muhammed has to go to the mountain, right? Got you. Will do soon. Love and blessings. Joy (Jew)

Thanks for making me experience winter through your poem. This one surely gave me the chills. In the Middle East, our definition of "winter" is a bit of wind at mid-day. The rest of the day will be 35 degrees Celsius, haha! Love, Maya =)

Oh, I love the wonderful upbeat tone of the last verse, John. I think you have weathered the storms life has brought your way admirably. Jack Frost can stay in the freezer; your warm heart would make him melt. Truly one of your best poems!! Love and blessings, Carolyn
