On a Little Roll

I am on a little roll this morning My ankles are wet, and I was chased by a dog No biggie The interstate was backed up Two fire trucks and a rescue vehicle passed me It was a small tsunami I have to go to the bathroom but there is no time I distract myself by paying attention to the twenty-six children Who are staring at me, expecting something wonderful to happen They have great expectations. They are the kindergarteners I do not want to disappoint

You know, it's really hard for me to believe that any teacher would have TWENTY-SIX Kindergarten-age children in one classroom. What in the world? I hope you have ten helpers!

Frankly, that ought to be against the law! How can you work with any individual child in that setting? I simply don't get it. I would be screaming to high heaven if my child were in that situation, or, if I were a teacher in that situation. Oh, well...what can I say...I'm really to old about ranting about overcrowded classrooms.

They now have 26 to 28 kindergarteners in each classroom. It is a ZOO.
