On a Gorgeous Day

God made for many a meandering field Each year fragrant flowers it did yield Heard song birds when they would sing Where they always liked to be lingering. Could find cows with a few friendly goat On romantic island really rather remote Long ago lived much of my wife's ancestry And some once were on local church vestry. Scotland and Ireland, island was in between What person saw was such a pretty scene If I let my wonderful wife have her way God will greet us there on a gorgeous day.

Maybe you might also like the next poem I have written just for you. How do you like PoetrySoup? Will have to go and read some more of your poems. My wife Jill is a Webster/McCarroll and the cruise will be great for being near her ancestry. I am a Horn/Yates/Fulton with British Isles as their point of origin. Jim Horn
