Omens

OMENS O’er wintry land bare trees now sway On wing above, black birds traverse Occluded skies of baleful grey Outspreading wings imparting curse Yet outcomes told by prescient sense With omens of dark consequence May be belied restoring sight Of hope; see yon horizon bright [Poem in 8x8 form] Submitted to:- Contest: Unrest of Spirit Sponsor: Julia Ward 22 November 2018

Geoffrey, you must be an admirer of Mr. Poe. Your careful choice of words and the depth of what they reveal lets me know what a great talented poet you are. Darkness liberated by the light! I love this special piece. If entered in the contest, it should have been on the winner's list. This is going into my Faves! It is so nice to meet you through your poetry Geoffrey. I will be seeking out more of your poems. Aloha, Connie : )

Thank you so much for your appreciative and flattering comments, Connie. I confess a taste for the occasional dark image - perhaps too dark for the contest!
