Old Things

Judging due to skin
instead of the beauty within
We are all apart of one soul
hate has really gotten old
so many breaking skin
of those that could be called friends
 Hiding feelings in plain day
but love is open
and too far away
 Holding back others
as well as yourselves
too many years have we dealt with this pain
all that was seen
brought so many tears
Never knowing who hurt the most
till you look in the mirror

OMG! I feel that pain. Every day when I get up I have to ask myself is today going to be a good day or are you going to let today get the best of you?

Hate and prejudice "due to skin" or religion really have "gotten old." I hope we live to see the day when everyone is seen as an equal, but dare I aspire to such heights? It may take generations, but at some point in the future, all people may be wearing the same color skin. Very thought-provoking, Donny. Nice write! Love, carolyn
