Old Man

The old man in me remembers
all the years now gone,
but that young man I used to be
is not ready to move on.

My mind still tells me,"Yes. You can",
while my body tells me,"No".
My body tells me, "Rest a while",
but my mind still tells me, "Go".

Then you gently touch my hand
and ask if I'm O.K.
and I know without a doubt
how blessed I am today.

Sometimes my mind does wander
to the me I used to be,
but I would not change one single thing
that brought your love to me.

Whose love you refer to is immaterial, it is a lovely write. Lary. God Bless. D.
