Old Man
Is the night as long as your coat or as short
as your footsteps. Old man shuffling past,
are you proof that dreams don't last.
Living in the shade where shadows can't cast.
Tell me was I there
Making journey's do you ever get there, did
you have a love, did anyone care. Oblivious
to all that stand and stare.
Was it always so
Has each stain a story to tell, every cup of
tea a memory to sell. Every paving stone a
passage to hell.
Loneliness will always be
Old man shuffling by, winds chill and
clocks cry. Twist of fate and there go I,
our shadows the one true friend
