Old Man
Life passes on by
Still I get out and try
One life doesn't seem enough
Who knew it would of been this rough
Talked to an old friend
Hated for that conversation to end
Talked of why nobody ever stayed
Loves a losing game some people have played
Lonely times replayed in the mind
Remembering those that was left behind
Do they even still think of you
Does your passion pull you through
An old man, looking back
His memories are on the attack
Wishing he could rewrite the past
And maybe find some peace at last.
People come but then pass on by
They can't even see the tears you cry
Passing shadows on the wall.
Out loud to heaven you call
Please help, me, I'm starting to fall
But the sound dies in your throat
Your feeling kinda remote
Time passes me on by.
The age shows, in my eye
Time has been lost to me
Memories of all I did see
They just won't let me be
Yesterday wasn't meant to last
Why I'm having visions of the past.
Every day it's the same ol thing
The sadness these thoughts bring.
Waiting for that hells bell to ring
Living my life the best I can do
Keep my heart beating true.
Living one day at a time
I have learned, my life is the rhythm
