Old Friends

Old Friends
(a visit with the Hunts)
By Franklin Price

Old friends came to visit us
It was only yesterday
Was like they never left us
Like they never went away

Looked upon their faces
Saw that old familiar smile
Wrapped their shoulders in a hug
Sat down and talked awhile

Much better than the internet
That coming face to face
Put more things in perspective
Made the world a better place

Talked about so many things
About family, friends and foes
And just a little politics
Tried not to step on toes

They left before the light was gone
Before the setting of the sun
But they're coming back this morning
For more visiting and fun

Then they'll leave us once again
Back to the things they do
Leaving us good memories
Hope they take some with them too
