Oh, What a Pair

Way back when they started
their journey through this life.
They talked of all the joys they’d know
traveling life’s road as man and wife.

Most often times were happy --
But, sometimes, they were sad.
Now, through it all, I see the way
they made it on the faith they had.

They kept it all together
in good times and in bad.
Though sun and rain were theirs to share --
They’re thankful for the joys they had.

I’m certain life is richer now,
Each knowing the other is there
Sharing the good and bad they knew
As loved ones say, “Oh, what a pair!”

Note:
This was written for dear friends on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary.
