Oh, To Be a Child Again
Oh, to be a child again
Do you remember when
Fun is the goal everyday
Wake up and go, no delay
Food always ready, enjoy
Brush teeth, comb hair
Mommy says----
I just want my teddy bear
And a cookie, pretty please
Life lived with such ease
Pet the dog, look in that log
Run and jump, where's that frog
Chase butterflies, catch fireflies
Run in circles, get dizzy and fall
Giggle and laugh, what a ball
Runny nose, wipe on your clothes
Have to pee, do same as boys
Try and catch bouncy bunnies
Back to house to fill tummy
Again----
Smell freshly baked cookies
Mommy, I want milk please
Take a nap, no time for that
Pick wild flowers out back
Sometimes I see a lot
Others not ----
Mommy would never care
Got some to put in her hair
If you only picked grass
She would display in a vase
And say they're so pretty
Then----
You forgot----
Run away then run back
Dig in your little pocket
In a dirty little hand
Tiny little stones and sand
Displayed like precious gems
With the grass----
And the other stones----
And sand----
OH, TO BE A CHILD AGAIN !!!!!!!
