Oh, Time

Oh, time You eely creature Slipping slowly Through our hands Why must you wriggle so Deny the moment Its moment Mock The ticking clock Slither Through the darkness Throw down dawn’s gauntlet How can one seize A never present Ever present Moment Grasp the magnitude Of now Lost Amid the timidity Of then Oh, time Must you torment My restless shadow Leave me naught But the momentary joy Of ever shifting sands A flickering Of life’s eyelids Awed by your presence

Classic John Lawless poem, gets you in and holds you there. Exquisite examination on the question of time. To compare time to a slippery eel....just brilliant...loud applause for this oringinal flight of mind and then there's more.

Hello John, I liked your metaphysical musings on time's elusive nature. I found it to be spellbinding. There is a lot of philosophical thought in there, and I think you captured the paradox of grasping the eternal present. Bravo! - Blessings, My friend, Daniel

Even your wording slows us down as we ponder life. Time.. You eely creature Slipping slowly Through our han… We are tormented with momentary joy and awed by time’s presence. Great!
