Oh, Time
Oh, time
You eely creature
Slipping slowly
Through our hands
Why must you wriggle so
Deny the moment
Its moment
Mock
The ticking clock
Slither
Through the darkness
Throw down dawn’s gauntlet
How can one seize
A never present
Ever present
Moment
Grasp the magnitude
Of now
Lost
Amid the timidity
Of then
Oh, time
Must you torment
My restless shadow
Leave me naught
But the momentary joy
Of ever shifting sands
A flickering
Of life’s eyelids
Awed by your presence
