Oh Pollution

Oh how I weep, feel such hurt, sigh and cry
our oceans, seas, lakes, rivers, brooks and streams,
due to negligence, carelessness will die,
pollution will be an end to our future dreams,

Oh why are we so willing to kill our planet?
this place we all call home, our sanctuary
this wonderful and diverse world we inhabit
thoughtless discarding of waste is unnecessary,

Oh what will come with Mother Natures scorn
fire, flood, and storms, could be our punishment
incurable diseases transmitted or airborne
sometimes to be a human is an embarrassment.

Bravo Roy for highlighting this terrible issue which is getting worse and worse - we have a group on the island called 'beach buddies' and they do a wonderful job of clearing the beaches but we all need to make an effort and turn around our recycling habits:-) hugs jan xx

Thank you so much Sara for your very kind comment, by 2050 if we carry on polluting our oceans and seas, plastic will outweigh all the fish and mammals in our waters, I also enjoy reading your work. :))

Hi Maureen, I have just watch the trailer and it has really saddened me to think that I have probably contributed to the deaths of so many creatures.

Thank you so much Vijay, apparently there are more pieces of plastic in our oceans and seas than there are stars in our solar system, thanks again. :))
