Oh, July

OH, JULY…..you showboat
Barging in…with a bang
Flags and fireworks
Flowers and tears

A grand party
Celebrating our INDEPENDENCE
From those who tried
To restrain our FREEDOM

Oh, July, let Us always remember
Those who ignited the fire
Tended the flames
Mended our oft-tattered flag

Hi John, Loved your poem. Hope we all remember how important freedoms! Too many poisons like mandates and censorship will do us all in. A government that jails political opponents is a banana republic of one that mirrors Arab lands. Panagiots

Good point, John. As the man said: The sales dept. does 1% of the work, the service dept. the other 99%... Betsy Ross

It feels like everyone thinks freedom is for free, but a lot of blood was shed over it. Good one here!
