Oh God, I Don'T Remember

I said I wanted a hamburger If that is what you are making. You brought me something on a bun. When I wanted eggs and bacon! You said, "You don't remember?" I called you on the telephone. Asked to whom you want to speak, "I didn't call," you tell me. "Don't do it again, you freak!" BUT, I don't remember! I asked you for the newspaper. You brought it to me quick, You said I could read it through, I asked if it's a trick? I just don't remember! Someone is knocking at the door. I bet it is my wife. it's my son he tells me, He's been here all his life. But, I don't remember! What is this world coming to Is it June or is it September? I ask myself each and every day I really don't remember! Oh God, please help me, I just don't remember!

Hi Virginia, As we age, our memory isn't what it used to be. I wrote a poem on the subject entitled "Ill Remember For Us Both" Excellent job on such a sad topic-Alexis

Thankyou. I have a brother-in-law going through this terrible time. Pray I don't end up the same way. Thanks for your comment.

Haha, good one. So sad it is a reality to a lot of us as we age. Best to laugh a little at it and try to get on with it. Thanks for the chuckle.

So sad when aging takes its toll. I hear the sound of helpless feeling in this fine poem.

Thankyou, you are so right. Whether alone or with big families, sometime aging gets in the way and the elderly becomes lost. So sad.
