Hope fuels my wishes and dreams,
immune to life's lows and extremes;
it sets imprisoned feelings free,
Oh God, be merciful to me.
Faith's my rock; it anchors my soul,
accepting God is in control;
for faith opens my eyes to see,
Oh God, be merciful to me.
Charity is a selfless gift;
it gives fallen brethren a lift;
all that I give, I give for thee,
Oh God, be merciful to me.
Love is the greatest gift of all,
it can make you feel ten feet tall;
when doubt locks my heart, love's the key,
Oh God, be merciful to me.
These ethereal gifts, as such;
cannot be seen or even touched;
but each is priceless; I agree,
Oh God, be merciful to me.
