Of Writing on Black and White

I could do black and let it be
tuxedos, black holes or the Black Sea.

I could do white for purity or
rice, eggs, golf balls, or heaven’s door.

Opposing principles clearly defined
express that black and white are not blended.
For people who think things are black and white only,
fences with neighbors might not get mended.

For my black and white, I will combine
those colors and get a sweet gray feline.

A neutral gray is what becomes
of mixing well both black and white.
If people did this, perhaps we could say
nobody’s all wrong or completely in the right.

Love your theme and points brought forth on Black and White Andrea. Colors representing ideas and ways to look at colors from a personification outlook. Well done Dear Andrea. Hugs...

Nice poem. I am color blind, don't see black or white. I want to see inside our hearts, everything is colorless.

sorry you are color blind. I thought it was only related to people who can't see colors like red or green in the right way

Andrea, I like how you did this. There are some things that work well as either black or white. Some things require mixing, compromise, and empathy. You hit the nail on the head! The gift is knowing when, where, and how to mix the things that require judgement and compassion.

Dear Andrea, your poem beautifully illustrates the complexity of life's contrasts. Through the fusion of black and white, you artfully depict the nuances of gray, symbolizing harmony amidst differences. I like how you show that embracing shades of gray allows for understanding and compromise in a world often seen as black and white. Andrea, this is an insightful reflection on the power of blending opposites to find common ground. - Blessings, Daniel

Exactly, gray is harmony. Glad you got that, Daniel.

Nicely penned. At the risk of being cliche, there are many gray areas in life...

Oh wow this has a beautiful rhythm to it, and how true and profound. The first poem i wrote on this is “ truth isnt black and white” hah maybe i should post it. Your take is so unique and flows so well and the way it reads is beyond captivating. A neutral gray is what we need when looking at thngs. Exactly. Best wishes for the contest. Youve nailed it.
