Of Secret Things

Who can know of secret things
and answers to life's riddles
but one who slowly takes the time
and searches out the little ?

For we seem too often to be impressed
with what is big and grand.
Looking in awe of the mountains
we overlook the grains of sand.

What we learn from the bee and the ant
in terms of diligence and not being idle;
these are qualities that everyone
must always learn to bridle.

True, we seem to only look at the 'big' picture and overlook the small things that are just as important. A very good write, my dear Doug...makes one appreciate the small things in life. ~Belinda~

Great poetry Douglas, and there is so much truth in this. I especially love this part: "Looking in awe of the mountains we overlook the grains of sand." This is good for us to remember... excellent writing. :) Love, Amy
