Of Mothers' Devotion

Cheek by jowl with a responsible mother
If you place a responsible father
To determine the affects of each parent
On the infants that they both parent

Despite the father's impacts to make them flourish
The mother's devotion will always astonish
Give kudos to every nursing mother
Busy like the ants they make me wonder

From dawn to dusk despite being exhausted
With their babies they are unbenighted
With babies many fathers are like fighting fire
But a mother's breast gives hope to babies in quagmire

Everynight with the mother of my children
Seeing how my children have her sleep broken
I am prompted to move the needle
With a new vow that with her I won't play the fiddle
