Notes About The Poem

" the hair of the dog that bit ya"...an old adage regarding taking a drink in the morning to sooth the angst of the hangover

Of ice and men

never put ice in the "hair of the dog"
your shaking hands will sound an alarm

Hey John, This is a brilliant, punchy couplet! That idea of your hands betraying your struggle and the ice rattling like an "alarm" is such a clever and instantly relatable metaphor for trying to maintain composure when you're anything but. Autumn Blessings, John, Daniel
