Ode To Wantabe's

Dopamine dementia
In this biochemical soup
Awakens now and then
Memories
Of wantabe's: those
Never quite finding
Definition or their place to
Shine

In the hallways of time ...
Never quite lasting in their potency.

Tarnished diamonds in the rough
Handled harshly by humanity's
Eagerness for perfection.

Rudely forgotten
Outside their five minutes of fame or
Untouched by life's fire of refinement,
Glittering only in
Her memories.
