Ode To the Infinite
If I become the future it is only because I am the past
If I achieve everything it is only because nothing lasts
If I conquer the wretched and overcome the pain
It is only because I am self-serving and incurably vain
If I don't know how much is enough and when to stop wanting more
It is only because I've seen these faces, I've been here before
If I won't give up and will not accept defeat
It is only because I've been knocked down enough to know the strength of standing on my own two feet
