You stand erect as we approach
In weather dark and weary
You smile with firmness in your voice
To perform your ID query
With courtesy and due respect
You verify our station
The mission of your post we know
Ensures our safe protection
Through cold and dark and wet and wind
You guard your post without chagrin
Our first line of defense begins
With you, the guard of nations.
