The Whiskey Taster’s Flavor Guide

Ode to Morning Coffee

Black heat rising in steam,
bitter prophet of dawn’s claim.
You burn my tongue awake,
shake sleep’s ash from my veins.
Small god in a white cup—
I drink you down like truth,
dark and necessary.

Lovely allegory to coffee, Kayla. I only read this gem now. I like how you’ve used black & white in poem. This is an effective line : “ You burn my tongue awake,”. Well written. Great Love your way., Ghairo.

This has some "deep" imagery and thought, Kayla. I am drinking it right now actually - :)
