October Snow

Winter's song has come too soon
Three inches fell this afternoon

Pumpkins gripe that life is mean
Two more weeks til Halloween

Must we shiver through the night
Carve us up and give us light

Warming candles so we can greet
Children playing trick or treat

October still is on the stage
Winter's on another page

Stop the snow and close the book
Autumn needs a second look

A very good reminder! This might as well be a carpe diem poem :o) Brgds. George

Oh yes...it got cold here too, and it happened overnight!! We had windows open, sunny days just a couple of weeks ago, but a cold north wind has really chilled everything. No snow here however, so guess I shouldn't complain. Suppose to warm up again late this week, so hope things thaw out a little for you too! Such a cute poem, just made me a little colder reading it!! But perhaps Autumn will take another look and give you a break!! ~ Carrie
