October Bliss

I am sick of eating those huge orange gourds cooked in pies - And my little garden is choc-a-bloc with pumpkins this year; But when carved out, they are the talk of the whole neighbourhood. For Andrea’s contest

This is a cute little poem. I turn 60 Oct 7th, so the title caught my eye :) Very nice win.

Clever and witty sigo, Jack! By now you must have turned orange! I can imagine your garden wall in the evening dotted with eerie shining Jack-o-lanterns. Congrats on a fine and deserved win. // paul

hahaah, I was wondering if this might be yours. You did exactly what a good sijo should do. You did a "twist" in line three, making it not so bad to have those pumpkins after all. Also you made me google the word choc-a-bloc, to make sure I had guessed its meaning correctly. a very contemporary sijo. Congrats, Jack.

they're not bad around the end of October, but apple pie is better. I hear the squirrels will eat pumpkins. From the sound of your garden, it would take a lot of the whiskery little devils. Enjoyed, and thanks for dropping by. Love, daver

I don't know if I would cry about having to eat that pumpkin pie. :) All I know about it is that, with all that whipped cream, it makes me fat. Booo. Hope you're having a good week too jack. Peace. :)
