Ocean At Night

Besant Nagar, Chennai
c. March 2012

The sand tries to slow me down,
Running away from below my feet, planting slips.
The ocean threatens me, simmering with anger,
Frothing at mouth, I can drown ships!

The wind is going its own way,
Throwing water and sand, carefree
The sky! It welcomes me with open arms,
I own you it says, and you own me!
