Observation and Consideration...
are the words of an old man stronger than a contract?
is a tear for another known as human contact?
do you know where you have really been today?
a flawless woman of the earth fashioned by clay
the words under my breath I wish I said aloud
those who don’t want to conform but still go with the crowd
a lovers phone forever hanging off the hook
the blank pages you never wrote down in your life’s book
a darkroom photographer anticipating the emerging print
the missing word riddle given without a hint
when a drawing leaps from the page its resting in
a robin abandons the place her eggs were nesting in
watching a wall of rain move over the grazing field
an orange left rotting because it was never pealed
two morning lovers waiting for the rising sun to appear
the unemployed father ordering another beer
the light left on in the window of the eleventh floor
the man who can never escape the carnage of war
some things to ponder and some that I’ve just realized
the pure portrait of life doesn’t always have to be idealized
