Obscurity

Forget all tales of love,
But listen to a love that flees,
She a heart of darkness,
And he a light that sees.

He was a bright sunshine,
Concerned with an earthen glow,
Full of neverending happiness,
And all of love to show.

He made it through the day,
Hoping for her coming night,
Fading beyond the horizon,
And losing his inner light.

But the darkness flooded the earth,
And drove everything away,
And tomorrow unexpectedly came,
A lightless rainy day.
