Oasis of My Mind

In the desert of my mind,
Where the sun beats down unkind,
And the sandstorm rages on.
Yearning for a goal that's gone.
But then a verdant tree appears.
A sight that calms all my fears,
An oasis of the mind,
Where hope and peace I can find.
The cool shade and gentle breeze
Bestow my wandering thoughts to ease,
An escape from the arid heat,
A place where my soul can meet.
I drink from the clear blue pool.
And feel my spirit become full,
A sanctuary from strife,
A respite from the desert life
In the oasis of my mind,
I leave all worries faraway behind.
And find a place of harmony,
Where my soul can truly be free.
